Trama:
Mockumentary (falso documentario) sul giornalista Borat Sagdiyev (alter-ego di Ali G, alias Sacha Baron Cohen, comico inglese), celebre giornalista del Kazakhstan, inviato negli Stati Uniti per realizzare un documentario sull’american way of life. Durante la sua permanenza negli States Borat conosce, attraverso lo schermo televisivo, la sex symbol Pamela Anderson di cui si innamora. A quel punto la sua professionalità e l’interesse per il proprio lavoro verranno decisamente trascurati…
I cannot say that I really liked this movie, I think the humor is more tailored for the guys. However, some of the story lines were raunchy and I did chuckle here and there. I think I would have appreciated it more if I had seen it with a group of guys. Borat did phenomenaly well at the box offices and Sascha Cohen was nominated for an Oscar, so watch it if you are a guy and you have a crude sense of humor.

Trama:
E’ stata un’estate lunga e solitaria per Harry Potter, trascorsa nell’attesa di tornare alla Scuola di Magia e Stregoneria di Hogwarts per frequentare il quinto anno. Non solo ha dovuto sopportare di vivere ospite degli odiosi Dursley, ma non ha ricevuto neppure un biglietto dai suoi amici e compagni di classe Ron Weasley e Hermione Granger. E nessuno che abbia detto una parola sul suo scontro con il perfido Lord Voldemort. L’unica lettera ad essergli arrivata non è certo quella che sperava, infatti annuncia la sua espulsione da Hogwarts per aver usato le arti magiche fuori della scuola e soprattutto in presenza di un Babbano, nella persona del disgustoso cugino Dudley. La sentenza non considera minimamente che si è trattato di un atto di difesa da un inspiegabile e inaspettato attacco di due Dissennatori.
L’unica speranza di Harry è difendersi davanti a quello che non è altro che un tribunale illegale messo in piedi dal Ministro della Magia, Cornelius Caramell, che ha le sue ragioni per volersi sbarazzare del giovane mago. Purtroppo per Caramell, Harry viene completamente scagionato grazie all’intervento del venerabile preside di Hogwarts, Albus Silente, ma per la prima volta il suo ritorno a scuola è penoso e non piacevole. Scopre infatti che la comunità dei maghi è stata portata a credere che la storia del suo scontro con Voldemort sia una bugia bella e buona, mettendo quindi in dubbio la sua credibilità.
Harry si sente solo e ferito e la notte è tormentato da incubi che sembrano annunciare eventi sinistri. E per di più l’unica persona da cui vorrebbe ricevere consigli, il professor Silente, appare improvvisamente distante.
Nel frattempo, nel tentativo di tenere sotto controllo Silente e gli studenti di Hogwarts, in particolare Harry, Caramell ha nominato come nuovo insegnante di Difesa contro le Arti Oscure, l’ambigua professoressa Dolores Umbridge. Ma questo nuovo corso-approvato-dal-ministero lascia i giovani maghi completamente inermi e incapaci di difendersi dalle Forze Oscure che li minacciano. Così, sollecitato da Hermione e Ron, Harry viene convinto a occuparsi della faccenda. Incontra segretamente un piccolo gruppo di coraggiosi studenti che si fanno chiamare “Esercito di Silente” e insegna loro come difendersi contro le Arti Oscure, preparandoli alla straordinaria battaglia che li aspetta.
Harry Potter does it again… You can never go wrong with Potter.
The visual effects are outstanding and the story board is so ever magical. This is a darker film of the Harry Potter series, primarily because he is maturing and we are maturing with him. What I also enjoy about Harry Potter is that there are underlying themes which are a little bit to pick up but are there. For example in this film, there is a hint of excessive government intervention and even bigger injustice, whether it is by the state or among humans as well. You will enjoy this young adult of Harry Potter as he finds his path to his destiny.

How do you define boundaries for a passion, how do you define boundaries for a friendship? Have you ever thought that you deserved more and that life has not been so kind to you? These are the main themes that “Notes on a Scandal“? tackle. I really enjoyed this film because Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett are a winning combination. This film also alludes to loneliness and how each person copes with this sentiment.
IF you like drama, great protagonists and plenty of dramatic twists, see the movie and you won’t be sorry.

I really love watching tv, but good tv and sometimes good shows are not easy to find, but in the last ten years telelvision shows have really grown in style and are more critically acclaimed. Now, movie stars are more willing to opt for television series than huge motion pictures. I have selected some television shows that I believe can appeal to people who understand the significance of great scripts and great acting. There’s plenty to choose from. So enjoy!!!!
The Office
This is one of the funniest tv shows of the times. It is set of course, in the office with a narcissitic boss and muilti layered employees. This show will make you laugh off of your seat because you will be able to related to many situations that happen in your office as well. Trust me, it’s hysterical. 2nd season rocks.
The Sopranos
This is one of the best tv shows I have ever seen. You do not have to like violence, be Italian or know anything about the mafia because this tv show “sucks you in until you are hooked”. The script is phenomenal, the actors are superb and the situations are so realistic it really makes you think. What I really love about this show that you can learn a lot about leadership and management. No joke. There have been books published about the Soprano style. I highly recommend this tv show. It will give you a good “whacking”.
Entourage
This is a new show for me, but I was actually pleasently surprised. It is about a a group of 4 guys in Hollywood. One of which is an upcoming actor and the other guys are his entourage (his old friends from NY including his unsuccessful actor brother). The entourage encounter hollywood celebrities, the pr and all the hollywood hoopla that follow. James Piven plays Ari Gold the agent. He is fantastic in this role. He really nails it. Besides the enourage being horny at all hours and you see that famous people get away with everything, it is a good show to watch. Interestingly enough, you understand the mechanics behind Hollywood.
Weeds
This show is like American Beauty meets Desperate Housewives meets Grace’s Grass. The main character played by Mary Louise Parker suddenly becomes a widow and sells weed to maintain her life style. The problem without stating the obvious is that she has two children and that she is against illegal drugs. I enjoyed this tv show because it outlines how people seem so puritan but behind the doors, it is all a different business. Aslo, you learn a lot about production and distribution.
Sex and the City
If you have never seen this show, you do not know what you have missed. It is the bible for dating, love and relationships. This is one of my fave episodes.
Desperate Housewives
What can I say, desperate times calls for desperate measures. I love all the cast, they are all corky in their own way. We can all identify with one or more of the characters. The unravelling of each season mystery keeps us watching.
The Shield
This is one of those police tv shows but it has depth. Not all cops are good and not all criminals are bad. The Shield displays that people in general are gray and that they strive for self interest. The concept translates well in the series. If you like these kinds of shows, you will love The Shield.
House MD
I cannot go without watching Dr. House. Why? He is exactly the opposite of what we imagine a doctor be. He’s crippled, inhumane, rule breaker and completely in appropriate. However, he seeks the truth which takes courage. Cheers for Dr. House, the doctor we all would love to have.
Grey’s Anatomy
I really really loved this show until season 3. I will explain why; it was a great show about love, death and the rites of the passages of life. It was exquisitely explained and narrated citing various situations that we have all encountered one time or another. However, in s 3, I felt that it lost that message and that the script was written to satisfy the mass instead of staying within the lines of the basic idea. I really hope that season 4 returns to the way it was.
CSI Las Vegas
It’s a crime classic and has influenced our world in so many ways. Anytime a crime happens, we think of DNA and other evidence. We have all become CSI agents in our own way. Think about it. Here is a clip featuring one my favorite American singers.
