Tiësto (IPA: /tiɛsto/; born Tijs Verwest (IPA: /tɛɪs vɛɹʋɛst/) on January 17, 1969) is a Grammy-nominated Dutch trance DJ and record producer. He has become one of the world’s most famous people in the trance and electronic dance music scenes.^[3] Although he has used many aliases in the past, he is best known for his work as DJ Tiësto.On his latest productions, however, he has dropped the “DJ” label and is now known simply as “Tiësto”, an alias which is a twist on his childhood nickname.

As his popularity rose in the early 2000’s he became the first DJ to perform to a large crowd without any other DJs or opening acts. He is also noted for being the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympic Games at the 2004 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in Athens. In addition to receiving numerous awards for his work he was crowned “World’s No.1 DJ” 3 consecutive times by DJ Magazine from 2002 through 2004 and received a nomination for a Grammy Award in 2008, for his album Elements of Life.

He has also made a number of charitable contributions. In April 2006, Tiësto was named the official worldwide ambassador for the Dance4Life foundation,fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS, for which he recorded the track “Dance4life.” In December 2007, Tiësto and Giorgio Armani collaborated together on a limited edition Tiesto T-shirt available at Armani Exchange stores. His single “Sweet Things” includes the shirt with the proceeds from the sale of this T-shirt benefiting the Mercy Corps.

Debutta all’età di 17 anni. Nel 1996 comincia a organizzare delle serate a Ibiza. Nel 2002 il suo motto “Fuck Me I’m Famous” inizia a diffondersi nel mondo, approfittando della notorietà acquisita con il suo omonimo album.

Nel 2005 entra nella classifica dei migliori dj internazionali redatta dal magazine inglese DJ Mag.

Il 17 novembre 2005, va agli House Music Awards a Roma, riportando indietro il premio di miglior dj dell’anno, e quello del miglior pezzo con il mix KissDaFunk.

Il 14 luglio 2007 suona a bordo del volo inaugurale Vueling VY 9932 al fianco dell’attore Carlo Cutolo alias dj C9 tra Parigi e Ibiza.

Il 16 luglio 2008 è stata premiata al Venice Music Awards. Il riconoscimento le è stato assegnato da Rai 2 quale cantante rivelazione dell’anno.

Are you ready for the Zurich Street Parade ???

The Street Parade is the most attended technoparade in Europe.

It takes place in Zurich, Switzerland. Comparable to Berlin’s Love Parade, the Street Parade is as of 2004 one of the largest techno parties in the world and the largest annual event in Zurich. Proceeding along the side of Lake Zurich, it normally occurs on the second Saturday in August.

Since 1996, the event is organized by the Verein Street Parade (Street Parade Association). Today, the Street Parade has all the character of a popular festival, however legally it is still a political demonstration. This frees the organisation of security costs, among all else that the city takes under its charge.

The Street Parade continues to be one of the safest mass events in the world. This is not just a consequence of the peaceful nature of dance parades, but is also thanks to a widely thought-out prevention concept.

Five to ten times more participants at the Love Parade in Berlin had to be medically treated or transported to hospital in the last few years, relative to attendance.

Clear advice on healthy behavior is part of the “do’s & dont’s” informational campaign of the Street Parade. In particular, the message “Please, NO DRUGS” was made prominent on every Lovemobile during the 2006 event.
